Gullible Europeans were quick to believe that the three-year-old child, Aylan Kurdi, died with his mother and brother as the family was escaping certain death at the hands of ISIS in Syria. The story included reports the family was fleeing to join relatives in Canada despite their asylum application being rejected. Those kids were doomed by their parents’ stupidity as much as anything else. Turkey to Canada on the SS Minnow is a tough trek. Something closer to the truth was later reported, involving economic migration and a desire for a piece of the Syrian dream – a great welfare system that included an awesome dental plan.
